Verin Arts Center

Verin agricultural landscape becomes a reference. The proposal “digs and plows” a landscape to convert it into an authentic PLACE.
The building offers two different sides. The front façade opens decidedly to the public space, while its back tries to blend with the environment, as if walls and roofs emerged from the ground itself. The nearby Castle Monterei inspires this artificial topography.
The Verin Arts Center is organized as a cell compound. This open and flexible compositional system allows a construction in different phases and possible extensions in the future. It also breaks the large appearance of the building into smaller parts for a better integration in its surroundings.
